Here's basically what I want to do:

I have the single disc MACH MP3 player in my car now. I went on Ebay and bought a 2000-3 MACH HU with the 6 Disc...should this be a simple install? Different years, does this make a difference? If I want to just rip the other one out and plug this one in, will it work that easy? Seeing how they are both the MACH HU's.

So....is there any good write up that helps me take out the old stero and put this one in? I would like to do it tomarrow, if at all possible, so any help really fast would be really, really, appreciated!

Thanks,
Abel

Just go to your ford dealership and ask for the radio guy and when he usually comes in. Usually if you already have the part will cut you a deal for installation. Thats just my experience.

Well here's what happened guys...the radio doesn't work. It looks to have a blown left channel. Right side works perfect, left side no music at all. Something's not right here...

What sterio didnt work, the CD-6, or Mp3? Maybe you should hit up ebay again and get all the speakers, and the rear panel, with the amps - they're usually cheap.

The Cd-6 didn't work. I have no idea what's up? But see, the right side worked perfect, only the left didn't work, I have no idea what's up?

Did you try adjusting the balance?

It could also be just a loose or dirty connection. Try everything, because Ford stereos are pretty easy to work with from my experience.

Yeah...when we plugged it in there seemed to be something wrong. There was hardly any bass and the left side was just not coming in very well (or so I thought). We turned the balance to the left speakers and nothing came out...and that was for both front and rear?

You could always get a professional opinion from your local ford radio man.

Did the unit just plug right in or did you have to splice wires?
