Its not the fuel pump is it? I've been in some vehicles that you could hear it.

Injector going bad? I know they can make a clicking noise so I don't know about humming.
Belt noise?
Low on power steering fluid?
Vacuum leak?

The fan makes a humming noise when it's on... Perhaps that's it? Perhaps you can take the hood off, and then do a fire drill run, running outside to hear what the problem is... or have someone at a stop next to it to figure it out.

Just throwin' things at a velcro wall to see if they stick...

Automotive stethoscope

Or a long screwdriver

Put your ear to it and touch things very very very carefully with you car running and the parking brake on.

If you are talking about a noise at idle, try turning the wheel from side to side, if the hum changes it could be the idler pulley (cheap) or the power steering pump (less cheap).

On my '03 vert, it was the idler pulley causing that sound.

well since our sixxers are known for ps whine and hum i'd aim more for it. check your fluid? also are you running power steering fluid or atf? i've found a lot of people run PS fluid not knowing ATF is what should be in it.
