Im purchasing a 2001 ford mustang gt in a couple of weeks. Anything I should know beforehand?

 

You posted in v6 forum. As far as gt goes you will want to know if its the early model or late model 2001. They changed in mid year. Different trans, heads, headlights, a couple interior pieces, ect. Count the bolts on the valve covers. 11 bolt is romeo heads. 13/14 boly is windsor. Romeo heads are better. If you have an early 01. Then you have the t45 trans. Late 01 is 3650. The 3650 is a better trans. Early 01 has clear headlights and late has black tint.

Check the simple things. See if the dipstick is stained from oil. If it is then the oil wasnt changed well. Make sure gears shift with no grinds if manual trans. Check to see if you have the aluminum crossover on the intake and not plastic. They are pretty good cars, not much goes wrong woth them
