Commuter Mustang
Commuter Mustang
I got this 98 V6 a few months ago to use a a daily driver for my 120mi/day round trip commute. It's a 5-speed manual, so it's not too much fun in stop and go traffic.
I've added a GT rear swaybar, and the 16" GT wheels w/ 225-55/16 BFG Comp TA's. The previous owner had installed KYB GR-2 struts, so it really handles great on the tight corners!... not to fast in a straight line, but does OK, and gets 25-27MPG running 70-80 on the freeway.
The person I bought it from had put on 109k mi in 9 years ,and I've already put on 5k in 4 months!.
Anybody else using an SN-95 as a commuter car?

My 2000 V6 was a show car/highway cruiser/nice day driver. It's what I used to go back and forth from NC/VA (about 200 mi each way every other weekend). On the 200 mile trip, I could get about 25mpg, and that included I-95 speeds at 70-75mph for half of it.
I sold it a couple months ago with just about 55K miles, so it wasn't driven a lot, but when it was, it was for a few hours at a time. It was a great car, and didn't have any issues (except for a recurring throw-out bearing problem).

Daily driver in the nice weather. I have had the car for almost 6 years and it does not see snow. I love it! Never had an issue with it always starts and with the Summit Racing exhaust kit it sounds great! Gets looks at the corners and at the kids school when I pick them up. Could not get much better. It is 8 model year old and has 72k on it. A lot of life left in this pony.
