I have a 99 mustang with 81,500 miles. what is happening is when i accelerate after about 30 min. of driving the rpm's will rev up but the car does not want to go anywhere. I have changed the plugs, plug wires, and fuel filter, and still the same problems. in park when you rev it up it still wants to die. any ideas because i have none. i would appreciate any suggestions on what might be going on, and how to fix my car.

If the revs are going up without acceleration, it sounds like a gearbox problem rather than ignition. You should get it checked out, it is probably adversly afecting your mileage as well

Weird! Does it rev high in idle too, when it's in gear?
