6-spd transmission

I'm new to the mustang world just bought a 96 coupe looking to fix it up. was wondering if I could put a 6-spd in it an if I can Wht do I need to do to get it to work. Right now it's an automatic an I want to leave it a sixxer but make it a standard

Gonna have to go 5 speed. A t-5 is what your gonna need. You need the make sure you get the bellhousing as well.

Trans, clutch, flywheel, bellhousing, pedel setup, clutch cable, shifter of your choice,

Without looking at it I can't say for sure, but you may also need and center console out of a 5 speed, the trans wiring harness, and a new starter.

Shouldn't need the whole console, just the shifter bezel and boot.

I'm curious is all... isn't there also an ECU to swap out, auto vs manual? Or is there really not much difference?

That is a good question. I've never thought about that. My gut says no, once you unplug the stuff for the auto the computer won't control anything so it wouldn't matter.

That being said, the possiblitly is there, but I don't think it needs to be swapped.
