Hey yall,

I have an 03 Mustang with only a CAI on it currently. I don't have a ton of money but I am currently saving up for a dual exhaust. I've search forums and different posts for about a week on the subject but I still need help. I'm torn between finding gt takeoffs, getting dual exhaust custom made, or using MAC. Which is the cheapest, best for performance, and do I need an x or h pipe? Thank you all for your help!

As far as cheap (but best) performance goes...I'd suggest MAC. You can get their catback system that is a direct bolt-on to the v6's stock y-pipe. It'll save you a lot more $$$ and you don't need an h-pipe. I believe MAC sells them for around $300.

Here's the link:

I appreciate the advice. By the way, what underdrive pulleys would you reccomend? (My Mustang is an automatic, I don't know if that matters or not) Thanks!

GT take offs are 2.25" compared to mac 2.50",,the advantage of gt take offs though are they're stainlesssteal which Mac isnt, you can always buy Mac flowpath mufflers and weld them into the gt take offs but then you'd need an h pipe or a true dual adapter that would weld in right before your cats..i personally reccomend just getting a mac y pipe kit if your not planning on adding a whole lot of power , mac y pipe is just bolt on up gt take offs will take welding yada more work then its really worth

If you're going to put Duals on the V6, make sure you get a GT back bumper, or something that accomidates dual exaust as it does. I don't think V6's with duals look very good with them just hanging below the stock bumper IMO.

good call. you can always have em do a manderal bend ( dont settle for a crimp bend its not the best for exhaustflow) to make it sit under there really nice but your best bet is to go with a GT rear bumper if you go to www.crossroadzdirect.com they sell gt take off rear bumpers for like $150 + s&h
