What's my HP now?
I should be finishing my 85 GT mods this weekend and I was wondering what I can expect in horsepower. Started with my stock 5.0 with roller cam and holley carb. I've added a Ebrock performer manifold, Ebrock performer heads (60cc, 1.90 valves) Crane roller cam, (@.050 .220/.498). Roller Rockers, MSD 6AL ignition and distributor, a high flow water pump and. Exhaust gases are running through Bassani equal length shorties, Magnaflow X pipe with cats and Magnaflow cat-backs. Still using the original Holley 4v. Any guess's at my current horsepower? Also, I'm still running the stock 7.5 rear axle assembly with 2.73 gears. I will be buying a used 8.8 and gutting it. Any opinions on the gear ratio? I'm leaning toward 3.55's but have been told I should go with 3.73's.I'm a little concerned about highway driving with such an aggresive gear ratio. Let me know what you guys think.
I'm going to guess 220-230 Rear wheel Horsepower with those mods....the Dyno is a great tuning tool and you can often pick up significant gains on one with tuning.
I would recommend 3.55 gears if you do any amount of highway driving....3.73's work fine but can be on the high end if you commute in it.

yeah i would think wheel HP should be around 245ish give or take a few. i would go with 3.55 though the 3.73 will only make about a 250 rpm difference on the highway compared to the 3.55. but i agree take it to a dyno and get everything dialed in and might get more HP. let us know how things turn out
