what is the biggest cam you can run in a stock 5.0
i got a anderson n41 cam and some 1.72 roller rockers and if my math is right that would make it a .550 lift and im afraid im gonna have ptv clearence issues someone plz help

Max lift has nothing to do with ptv, valve events are the most important part. you should be fine with the N41 but when in doubt clay it. what springs you using ( you didn't offer any other info), coil bind is something to consider also.
to get total vlave lift multiply lobe lift by rocker ratio. you can get lobe lift by dividing cam lift by rocker ratio.
Example:
.480/1.7= .282 Lobe lift .282 x 1.6= .451 valvle lift
.480/1.6= .300 Lobe lift .300 x 1.7= .510 valve lift
the numbers I just gave would be spot on for the "B" cam

just wondering if anyone used a anderson n41 cam with 1.72 rr and stock pistons i really dont think i can do it but i think im gonna try it in the next few days and if nothing else ill just have to go with 1.6 rr
