Value or not?

I'm looking at buying an '83 GT and have a few questions. My previous Mustangs were a '73 Fastback and a '96 Saleen S-281 so I have no experience with this era. I like the looks of this car and she doesn't have many problems with the body, just one area where it has a nice scrape with some surface rust on it. It has a v-8 with a 4 spd and t-tops. Newer exhaust and 5 spoke wheels. I don't know the mileage and he is asking $6500 for it. Is that too much for a collectible like this? Also, what are the major problems for a Fox body this old? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pristine, mint, no scratches or rust, low miles would be not quite $6500.
I wouldn't think of paying over $2500 but if you really like it, $3500.

well based on my mustang which i just purchases a little while ago.. mine was pristine... no rust no scratches no nothing... never winter driven... never accidented... original paint... no dirt or rust under the hood... original mags in mint condition, and a sunroof... not to mention the underside of the car was complete factory silver... never even undercoated... Its 1991 gt with only 90000km which is absolutely nothing and i payed $6600 for it... so for an 83 gt im thinking 6500 its real high
