I would, especially if its all stock stuff. It'll defiantly help if you decide to bump the timing for some extra power.

I wouldn't be able to give you an estimate. I'd say you should feel a difference. Don't know why you wouldn't want to bump the timing though, its like free power depending on how retarted it currently is. The CAI is more of a sound mod until you do more serious work. My father and I have both run into the 12's with stock tube's & air box with a K&N panel filter.

I would do the tune up, wires, plugs, and cap/rotor first just to make sure it's getting a good spark. I'd also run stock replacement motor craft plugs, should be no reason to run anything else.

Start at 12*... Some cars like more. I ran 14* in my Stangs. Then just listen for pinging(detonation) and just feel how the car reacts. You must run 93 octane though and I'd change the fuel filter if you havn't already. Usually I bump it until she pings then back it off a degree or two.

Uhh... Alright then, I never run anything lower than 93 in anything so I wouldn't have a clue what you could bump it to.

If you don't want to spend the extra money on 93 then I wouldn't waste money on a CAI either. Very minimal gains for the $. Like I said, my father and I have run well into the 12's with stock air boxes & rubber hoses. Your money is better spent elsewhere. Since your TB is only 60mm & Mass Air is only 55mm I'd start there...

10* is a long time standard on many engines for all around performance and safety (ping/detonation is an expensive game).

For power adders it may be an expensive game to play. For a stock 5 liter its fine if you bump it till it pings and back it off. We've done it to over a dozen different foxes and they all ran perfectly fine afterwards. Guarantee hes going to ping at the 6-8* its currently at running 87 anyway.

Waste of money IMO. Your CAI will only be as big as the smallest opening. In your case, 55mm(only 2.165 inch diameter) since thats the stock size mass air. Opening up the tube behind it will do nothing. I'd do the K&N drop in though. Like I said earlier, I've run into the 12's with a stock air box, stock rubber inlet tube BUT I had a 75mm Pro-M bullet mass air and 70mmtb. CAI are a waste of time with a stock motor. Your money is better spent elsewhere.

If your running 91 you may be able to bumo up to 12* without issues. Just pay close attention (as mentioned) for pinging. Its best to load the engine hard when checking as this is where detonation will most likely occur. I would bump the timing before I bought a cai or smog eliminator. It will see better gains than both. Not to mention its free. A cai is more for looks than anything on these motors. You can remove the air silincer from your stock cai to help a bit
