trouble codes 2.3 91
My codes read as follows
1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 2 2 3 2 2 4 2 2 4 2 2 3 2 2 4
Not sure if I have a 3 or a 2 digit system?
But if its a 3 digit system? do I need new coil packs?
223 224 223 224
or
22 32 24 22 32 24
1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 2 2 3 2 2 4 2 2 4 2 2 3 2 2 4

2 more codes have surfaced when the car runs really ruff they are
327 and 452
further this mustang has a really noticeable amount of sucking sound when removing the gas cap far far more than any other stangs I have owned.
Sometimes when driving the Tach needle can be quite ill rattic and drop to Zero with the engine not dying but acting ruff and vibrating like there is a vacuum leak and clearing up and running normal 1 to 5 minutes later
however, on 1 occasion the ruff ness has lasted more than 6 miles with a top speed of 40 miles per hour taking almost a mile to get to 40 mph.
This resulted in the muffler getting so hot it caused the back seat to smolder and burn a hole in the bottom side of the back seat

Plugs, wires and air filter all less than 60 days old. Have not touched the fuel filter as the con sumption of gas is very very high. my thoughts are that the computer is getting bad information from the imput sensors this is causing the motor to be flooded with to much gas and in turn the catalitic converter burns it causing the muffler to get so HOT it burns the bottom of the back seat.
Have purchaced new coil packs and am hoping this will take care of code 224 and maybe 223 also got a 15 dollar speed sensor for code 452
also purchased a egr solenoid for code 327 and am hope it works but,
will keep ya posted.
Have tomorrow off but the high will be around 48. So not sure I will get er done.

If you're thinking the EEC is getting bad input- have you thought about the O2 sensor?
To help with your diagnosis try looking through the schematics here- I know it helped me out in the past! http://www.veryuseful.com/mustang/tech/engine/
