Hey guys I havent been on in a while but im back. I have a 88 5.0 with a tremec transmission (I think). Saturday I was getting onto an on-ramp. I was in 2nd gear and gave it some gas it started sliding sideways a little, I let off the gas pushed in the clutch and shifted easy into 3rd let out on the clutch and gave it a little gas in 3rd. I didnt jam the gears or anything I shifted easy. Okay so I got on the interstate and pushed in the clutch to shift to 4th and it wouldnt come out of 3rd. The clutch disengages the transmission but it will not come out of 3rd gear. I had to drive the whole way home in 3rd gear. Does anyone know what this might be or how to fix it?

 

is their a broken shifting linkage?

 

Well theres no linkage on this transmission. Me and dad pulled the shifter last night and saw that it was inside the transmission.

 

sound like something is bent... there has to be a linkage...
