Throwback Thursday: 1992 SAAC Mk1 Fox Body Retro Review

Ask anyone what the rarest Fox Body is, and they will likely quip that it's the Cobra R. With 107 of those made, they'd be pretty darn close. But sorry, no cigar.

As an owner of one of these I need to correct your information. Yes only 65 were built but for the 1992 versions only 35 were built in the White/Blue with 5-8 of the 35 being deported and I don't have the paperwork in front of me but if anyone is vacationing in Peru you might just see one. In 1993 they built the rest and were called SAAC MK II and a Conv. was offered and now you had an option of Black/Gold, Red/White, and White/Blue. I have only seen the Black/Gold in Conv. never in the Hatchback but I have seen a Red/White hatchback SAAC II. They did offer a cheap version called the SAAC Snake but it was missing most of the SAAC parts. Sad thing with these is the owners are so afraid to drive them.

In reality the SAAC MKI isn't the rarest Fox-body... that would be the Saleen SA-10? They did build 10 so you would have to agree these are the rarest
