Thinking of buying a '85 GT

There's an '85 GT 'hatch across the street from me house, sitting in the person's yard. Been there for about a year without moving. As far as I know, the only person who lives there is a middle-aged woman.

White, aparrently has an automatic. Aftermarket wheels. In great shape overall.

How much do you all think would be a good offer to hit up the owner with? Pending further details... I know a guy round here who has a big block Chev to sell and if I could get my hands on that all thoughts of a sweet carburetored 5.0 would be wiped from my mind...

Automatic V-8 Mustangs in '85 were fuel injected. Carb V-8's were 5 speeds.

Yes, the '85 GT with auto is a CFI throttle body injected setup....looks kind of like a carb but is not. They are more limited to mods than the carb'd versions.

I think a lot of people wonder that... Ford was probably trying to get away from the not so fuel efficient carbuerator and wanted to see how this throttle body stuff worked before going all the way to multiport injection. Just my thoughts

if u can get some pics maybe we can give u a better estimate....just some advice....always low ball, if they dont accept then give them a higher offer, you never know what the seller will be willing to take....who knows it might be her ex-husbands project car she wants nothing to do with LOL
