SVO Shenanigans

Alright, figured it was about time I made a thread in the proper section for this...I got my new rack in the other day, taking it down to get aligned later this afternoon so I can get it out & play with it a bit. I could have sworn I had a thread for this car on here somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it, anyway...off to work then alignment, will get some pics on here afterwards, Happy Saturday all.

^^ ended up going with the cardone 22207 from autozone, it's no flaming river but it is good & tight, feels a lot better too, turns out the one that WAS in my car was a reman'd as well, no idea what kind though...and I suppose technically I got it's first two kills of the season the other day, going through a neighborhood it tripped the alarms on a Lexus & a Range Rover

anyway, pics aren't the best as I havent really cleaned it this year so these are from last fall.

The Cobra wheels are what are on it now, the 05 GT's didn't feel right, need to get some decent tires on it and the exhaust fixed (it's dumped right now & I hate it), but as soon as it warms back up I'll try & get some better pix & maybe a sound clip.

Duals on the SVO

Got the new Cobra tails on and had to share, posted this on a couple of other boards but wanted to share here, too. Please excuse the crappy iphone pics, I didn't think they'd be able to even do it, let alone today so I didn't have my good camera.
Here is what I had to start with, it's a 3" downpipewith no cat going into some kind of no-name muffler that is pretty much just an empty can with baffles on the edges inside (it's a straight shot through it) that was dumped under the pumpkin:

Here they had to drop about a 1/4" to guide it through the opening and added the Y, (still at 3", btw) and added on the chromed tails that exit at 31/2".

And because I wasn't thinking to get another pic after he painted the Y, the tips aren't painted, just the pipe itself up to the chromed portion, (I was sure I did) here is a darker even crappier pic of that:

Two things are certain, One: it no longer sounds like an angry little tractor with a skull splitting drone at highway speeds, it sounds like it's pissed off (can I say that word here?) & stalking v8's, and Two: I know where I will be going from here on out for exhaust work, they did a fantastic job.

That looks awesome.

What did you source that IRS out of?

Thanks, the previous owner put it in, but it's out of a '99 Cobra.

Awesome SVO! What's up with the Cobra wheels on one side and the 2005 GT wheels on the other?

How do you like the IRS? I'm really debating right now whether I want to go that route or watts link/torque arm.

I really like it, but honestly if the prev. owner hadn't put it in I wouldn't have. It's a lot of fun but if you already have a semi-built rear end I'd stick with a live axel. Otherwise it's a great novelty to show off

Definitely caught my eye.

Mine is stock except for shocks/springs, so I'm not really that attached, and the IRS is a much easier swap on New Edges like mine.
