Steering shaft rubbing

Hello fox lovers. I went to the shop the other week due to poor idle, it was an easy vacum line fix, and I came out w/ a few repair suggestions from the mechanic. I have noticed a rubbing sound when I make a sharp turn of the steering wheel (pulling/backing into spaces). The mechanic discovered that my steering shaft is rubbing up against the headers. I can see the wear that the rubbing has created. The previous owner installed BBK shorties and I haven't had an issue these past 5yrs. Any suggestions? I know I need to fix this soon, do I need to look for different/better headers? shorties are easier to install I bet. Thanks to all in the fox communitty.

you`ve been driving it for 5 years and now it decides to rub .. look at your motor mounts .. maybe one has collapsed ...
