I just bout a 140mph speedometer out of a 1990 mustang for $25 it's in great condition. Will it fit my 1987 mustang. I have the stock 85mph speedometer.

I need a answer before I take the car apart.

Not sure on swaping the entire cluster, but the actual speedometers should swap as they are mechanical.

 

The '87-93 clusters are all the same. So, yes, you can either replace the entire cluster or just the speedo if you want.

you can get the 1990 speedo to fit into the early cluster even though the mounting holes don't all line up it can be made to work but the 199 thru 1993 cluster harnesses are not wired the same as the 1987 thru 1989. There are about a half-dozen wires that are in different.
