So I put a new power window motor in my 90 vert....

Got the motor from Fox Mustang Restoration. Went in the driver's door on my '90 5.0 7up Vert.

Everything was fine for about a week or so, now when I close the window the gear jumps the track when the window tops out. Annoying grinding noise if I don't get off the button quickly. Window still goes up and down, no problem - just 'slips' when it tops out.

What kind of adjustment can I make to get this back in order?

Thanks.

maybe one of your window stops needs adjustment

Yes, the window is a little loose. I will try adjusting the stops. Thanks.

OK, so I finally got this fixed. Ended up finding a more 'stock' replacement window motor (motor that caused the issue has '1/2 extra horsepower' for some reason). Without any other adjustments, this new motor works fine. No slipping off the gear/track at the top. I did adjust the upper/center window pad AFTER the new motor was in, just to get rid of a little slop in the window.

Got the window motor from discountbodyparts.com for less than $30 bucks, has a 1 year warranty. Driver's side - Part F462944 Best price I found.
