Rim question

Looking to get some new rims/tires on the '82 to replace the orig TRX's to drive on.

Looks like the Cobra R style would look good but they require '87+ spindles. Any truth to this?

Thanks

Huh? Never heard of having to replace early Fox spindles to '87+ for wheels to fit an early Fox. I know many people who have thrown Turbines, Phone Dial, Pony or '93 Cobra wheels on early Foxes and they haven't had any issues. I suppose the best place to ask would be foureyedpride.com, but I almost positive you shouldn't have to change spindles . . .

Have you thought about one of the 4-lug wheels above or are you set on Cobra R style? Turbines or '93 Cobra wheels would look fantastic on you car, in my opinion. (Call me a sucker for a set of good looking Turbines on a 4-Eyed Mustang! )

Never heard of that either. Probably more of a "budget brake upgrade" thing? The factory brakes on the '87-'93 V8 Foxes have barely adequate stopping power as it is - yikes. Changing to later Fox spindles would also require changing out the struts as well.

I've never heard of this either. As far as I know 79-93 are interchangeable

Seemed strange to me also.

Fitment:
Fits 87-93 Mustang models with 4 lugs. (Does not fit Cobra)
Fits 79-86 4 lug Mustangs if equipped with 87-93 front spindles.
Note: Priced per wheel.
Had Turbines on an '83 and they fit fine.

And a nice photo for good measure . . (Yeah, its an '85, not an '82, but figured I'd post anyway.)

Umm....NO - you dont need to change anything to put on any 79 - 93 Fox Mustang rim.

Personally I like the 91-93 Pony's on the older cars.
