Rear Trunk Latch

Hey guys. My new arrival of 1992 Mustang GT has a couple issues I need some help with. I'm going to post several topics on each so I can concentrate on each. The first one is the rear trunk latch mechanism. It doesn't catch. When I physically move the latch it feels very tight but moves. It doesn't catch the pin. Is there a quick fix like spraying it or shall I just purchase another?

The stricker for the rear latch will adjust. you need to loosen it and it will move up/down etc. also on the under side of teh hatch in each corner are rubber bumpers they may need to be adjusted also ( just like on the under side of the hood). you can also spray wd/40 or liquid wrench up inside the latch to get the jaws to move if they feel stuck but once they move free or come into contact with striker like they should the jaws should lock around the pin.

keep in mind not to move the striker to far up, you risk not making a good seal with the hatch and water could get in.
