Rear Disc Brakes

Hey fox body dudes, I have a question for ya. I am thinking of building a 34 Ford street rod, and one of the pieces I will need to get on my own is a rear end from a fox body Mustang. However, I want rear disc brakes. Thus the question. Which fox body mustangs came with rear disc brakes? Besides the SVO's.

Thanks!!

They specified fox body mustang, and well, if they are the same length, then I dont see a problem... How about the 05-09's??? I can get one of them dirt cheap.

The non-R 93 cobra also had rear discs. FRPP makes a conversion kit as does SSBC if you just wanna get a drum rear end and change it. I can't remember if turbo coupe T-birds are rear disc or not but that may be something to look into also.

nice catch, i meant cobra and r... my bad

there is a difference in width but i can not remember how much it is when going up to the 94. like valentino said though, you can get a drum rear and convert it over. you can go out and get the name brand brakes or you can use the later rear brake components and retro fit them.

Rear disc brakes are wider than the drum but the exact same dimension and brake equipped rear end can be found in any 1984-1990 Lincoln mark VII LSC....plenty of those in the junkyards. The Mark VII disc setup is the same that Saleen used in their Fox cars.

Same here, and that is the very reason I asked this question. I know that they (ford) uses the same items for many different applications. But I have no way, other then to go to the parts counter, to know. Plus a lot of times, you can get the very same part, for a different application, at a cheaper price.
