Do you think 235/45/r17 is the best looking size for a 17x8 rim for a 93 Vert? Or, if I go with a 245/45/17 I should not need a speedo gear change. I already have 3:55's and I changed the gear with my stock 16's

I think with foxes the speedo gear can only correct for different rear gear ratios, not different size rims. I think the only way to correct the speedometer is to send it out to have recalibrated for whatever size tire you choose.

The standard tire for a 17x8 is 245/45 so I don't see any problem with that

 

For every inch you go up in wheel size you go down 5mm in tire profile size
235/45/16 to 235/40/17
