Aight, my buddy is lookin for a 5.0 fox body.
We found a car, but I'm not sure it's a v8.
No front fender badges, it's a 87-93 style notchback LX.
Any chance this thing has the 5.0?
I couldn't get a peak at the back end cuz the way it's parked.

Well a notchback lx could be a 5.0, but id say its unlikely unless its debadged. if it has 10 hole rims its a 5.0. Noticed you got flame shooters on your 68, do you need to hook a fuel pump up to get gas to the exhaust tips or is there enough unburned in there?

The only way to tell for sure is to look at the VIN and determine if it was originally a V8. Anyone can install or remove the badges and the wheels are easily changed as well. Paul might be of some assistance here, I can't seem to find my Mustang VIN decoder

if you look underneath the car you will be able to tell what motor it has

I know wheels and badges can be changed. I think Josh was probably driving by the car and didnt have time to look. cus if you can look its not hard to tell, dual exhaust would show either way, but he said he couldnt see it. i dont think its an issue whether its an original V8 or not

Nope, just did the old sparkplug trick.
And there is enough unburned.
I run gutted cats and 3 inch from the headers back so alot of unburned gets out. It also depends on the fuel.
Higher grades are usualy better, but it depends on your system really.
And carbourated motors usualy give larger flames, more undburned fule I suppose. I only use mine for show, cuz you get caught with that on roads...
First person to ask about my flames, most people ask WHY? on the 351 olds...
Anyhow:
But we finaly got more info on the car, they guy was outside when we drove back by. It's an inline 4, new tranny, lotsa rust, and no title. Wants $1200 for it.
I told my buddy to just leave it.
So since he not got a car he driving the Olds till we can find em a car.
Would let him drive the 05 or the 68..., but the gf would be pissed about the 05, she drives it the most. And well the 68, eh, I don't trust Jason with 390ish rwhp...

Your '68 came with cats on it from the factory? I thought catalytic converters didn't come out until around 1974...?

It's aftermarket exhaust I made myself!
And I put em on there just incase they gave me a hassel during inspection.
Not like it has to pass emissions anyway.
Basically I took the cat apart, gutted it, then sanwhiched the pipe between the halves, and welded the sucker up and put clamps on the ends to make it look like it was doing sotin...
My mufflers don't exactly have any baffeling in them either...

89 gt flame throwers?
I don't see why not.
It might be harder with full on cats...
but give it a shot, just get a tailpipe that fits, order one of the kits or go online and look it up. I would tell ya, but I used a kit and alittle of my own enginuity so...
And on my buddies search, we found a car.
94 or 95 GT with a 5.0 107k miles, good paint, $4900. Any word on that year+motor? I know it's about 215hp or so right?
I'm more a 67-74, 81-93, and anything 99+ not knowledgeable on the Mustang 2s or the mid 90s. (go figure my least fav stangs...)
