question on hatch adjustment

ok does anyone know how i would go about adjustin my hatch? my hatch is offset to the passenger side abit and i dont know how to adjust it. i can see light through the corner and it is really noticable. so anyones input would be great.

Try adjusting the striker. One way you might be able to check to see if the hinges are off or not is to remove the striker and close the hatch and see if it lines up or not. If it doesnt then adjusting the striker wont help any. I dont know how to adjust the hinges though. The nuts might might be inside the car.

BTW the striker requires a torx bit to get off.

I believe its a T55 size torx bit also

I don't think the one on ours was that big. I think it was in the 40s though. But the striker was changed in 90 or 91 so the sizes may be different.

yeah its been a long time since I've looked at it but I believe it was a rather large bit
