I just rented the tool to remove the power steering pump pulley and after i powder coat the housing and pulley im gonna put back on. The tool did not come with any instructions. Need help please.

 

Can you post a picture of the tool? If it is a standard pulley puller, there are 3 legs that spread and hook around the outside of the pulley and a center threaded shaft that pushes against the shaft as you turn it with a wrench.

 

There's a few different styles. Post a pick of the tool you have.

 

I just did mine several months back and it was definitely more difficult to take off then it was to put back on, especially since I had a cheapie set. As was mentioned before, there are different types of sets, and if you query 'steering pulley puller' on a search engine you might find the set you are using.
