alright guys..im ditching my ford probe, my ford taurus, and im highly thinking of getting this 89-90 GT Hatch from my friend's boss...about 52k miles on the car, every option, adult owned and pampered...i think he said he wants around 2k for it...its just about flawless...1 catch..its an AT :bang: but i think i still want it...its silver....what do u guys think?? this is gunna be my daily driver too! i want an old 65/66 mustang...but need somethin a little more reliable where i dont need to work on it as much...then i want a 99-04 GT but dont wanna throw down that much cash for a down payment really....so im seriously thinking this car...what do u guys think?

I'd buy it. $2000.00 sounds too good to be true if the car is in as good of shape as you descibed.
Get a B&M shift kit for the Auto and some 3.73 gears!! You won't miss not having a manual as much!

If its really $2000 and if what you said about the condition is true its a great deal so I would say buy it. Besides the automatic trans is not that bad...I have an auto in my 91.

Buy It!! I would swap the auto for a stick. Get a tranny out of a 5.0 in a junkyard and just pull all the stuff you need for the swap out of the junkyard car. Don't forget things like a clutch pedal.

heck wish I had 2k so I could get it!. I'd put a shiftkit in the tranny and gears. Then throw on a good h/c/i combo like the TFS kit and you've got a great street car ( good daily driver if mild enough cam) and then take it to teh track and run some good times.

hey guys, i just got done buying it, here are some of the pics, it does have its share of knicks and marks, but i plan to touch it up a bit until summer when i think i may repaint it...im about to go out and buy some new replacement parts, flush the radiator, and do an oil change of what i like and a new motor craft filter
my new 88 GT
i ended up buyin her for $2300...funny thing is, this local dealer that were jackhineye$ to me about an 05 GT called me up and they were asking if i was still interested and i was like...yup just bought 1, not an 05, but something good, go to heck!
so yea..time to go buy a new set of tools, motor oil, filter, k/n air filter, radiator fluid, t-stat, some air fresheners and that should be it for now lol...i may hold off on the oil till tomorrow to get it...btw...what do u guys recommend for oil? its got 52,481 miles on the car, so shouldnt i switch to synthetics? ive been running valvoline max life in my older 100k + cars...i think i may go to normal motorcraft oil...please give me some input!

haha stinka its mine and is in my garage as we speak! i just got done going to walmart grabbing like 2 motorcraft oil filters a bunch of motorcraft oil as well (filter was like $2 compared to the dealer wanting $8, and the oil was $1.46/qt compared to like 3-5$ from the dealer and kragen/autozone type places :P ) so imma do the oil tomorrow...still gotta work on a few other things as well....
