Paint
I am not sure if the paint on my car is factory or not? Are there any tell-tale signs on the car or is there a number or code somewhere I could find & if so can anyone decode it for me or know a site that can? Thanks in advance.
The best way is to look very carefully at the weatherstripping, door locks and handles, headlight areas, underhood, etc. for evidence of poor masking. Very few painters will go to the trouble to remove these parts before painting, and it's very difficult to get the masking perfect. If you find overspray or a masking line in door jambs, chances are it's been painted.

If it still has the tags on the driver's side door, you should be able to find the paint code there. If the tag isn't there, then the door has probably been replaced, or at least been re-painted.
If the tag isn't there, there should be a buck tag on the driver's side radiator support that will have the paint code.
This site http://www.mustanggt.org/main.htm has some paint code decoders on it. That's how I found out what the color on my car was called.
