Just got my first mustang! Its a 92 LX hatchback with a stock 2.3l 4cyl. Not much but its a working project. Planning to take it cross-country soon, and had a few questions. Recently it has had a backfire problem through 2-3 gear? Also after driving it around for a few hours and shutting the engine off, when I go to start it, it won't unless I disconnect the battery cable and reconnect it minutes later?

 

Oh mans there is place that fixes those problems...man! I can't think of the name of it.... oh yeah its called a junkyard take your car there... back fires and wont start and you wanna take it across country? Bad idea. Anyways the backfiring could be a fouled o2 sensor...as for the not starting thing its electrical ...porbably a sensor of some sort...glad your first car is a mustang bro but honestly I would sell it and buy a 5.0 you're gonna spend more money in upgrades and fixing problems
