Need help with a purchase (93 lx 4 cyl)

I saw the car on the lot and wanteded it,to bad its a 4 cyl. The car is super clean with no rust. all the computer components work and the only blemish i see is a small burn (less than a dime) in the back seat. the ac/heat works and its a automatic. brand new tires and the car looks super clean. It has 84,666 miles on it,is that alot? the car is at the dealer and there is no salvage on the title. waiting for someone to repond and get me (hopefully) a carfax on the vehical. overall i think its beautiful. anything i should know before i buy. thank you

Oh dear!

I'm sorry but no matter how nice it is I really don't think a 2.3L Auto should cost $4K.

Is it a notch or a hatch?

That really seems like alot of money to pay for a 4banger, i dont even think i'd pay $3K for one, not when i could get one with a 5.0 for the same money

where are you located? It really seems that you should be able to get a good 2.3L for much less than that

That's kinda high. I got my 2.3L notch for $750 with 114,000 miles. Ran perfect, but there was some rust, and the paint was sorta faded. But if you really want it, go for it.

well keep looking, i mean im not saying dont buy this one. like nate said, if you're set on it than do it, but just realize its a pretty steep price.

the best thing to do is hunt around for a while longer. best of luck my friend

think shres a keeper

Test drove it today and it was perfect. Ran the carfax and it couldnt be cleaner. i thin the cost of the car was like 3,6xx something. i dont think thats a bad price for a car that i like and it has 81k.
im going to really need your guys help on what needs to be replaced/maintained on it. i know nothing about this model. heres a quick list i got from someone
Oil Change
2. Flush the cooling system and change fluids. Make sure this system works.
3. Get new brakes. No upgrade needed just get new ones that are sufficient.
4. New battery, starter, alternator, and cords. These can help reduse questions about starting problems.
5. New tires
then again when i went for the test drive i told him what it needs no siht and he told me nothing. he's been a real honest person to work with so i dont doubt him. Then again he is a dealer but the car is already mine so i dont see why he needs to fib.
