Shortys are cheaper and fit better, but logn tubes look/sound better and generally produce more power & torque, especially at higher rpms.

If I were you, I'd shell out the extra $100 and get a good set of LTs...

don't forget, if you are to get longtubes you will need a shorter mid-pipe. H-pipes are louder at idle and have that classic muscle car throatiness while x-pipes are quieter at idle but are louder under WOT and I've read before someone described an x-pipe as more of a higher-pitched exotic car sound.

I've heard a 5.0 with bkk shorties, x-pipe, and flowmaster catback and it was loud but didn't really sound right.

For a street driven car I'd go with shorty headers, H-pipe with cats, and cat back exhaust. Check out Mac Peformance Products. There H-pipe and cat back exhaust are modular and very easy to install.

Im running BBK long tubes, Off-road H-pipe, and flowmasters and it sounds like a racecar at a local track. We can hear it a mile away.

Yeah, I have read that long tube headers for a fox mustang do the most performance wise. I think they elongate the power curve. H-pipes and flowmasters 40-series gives the classic 5L mustang sound, and if you can get away with it take out the cats for better performance and air flow.

Just don't get X-pipes less you want that 'Honda Motorsports' sound, IMO.

thanks for the imput everyone I think after reading this I'm gonna go with the BBK longtube headers the BBK H pipe with the cats and the flowmaster cat back 40 series I kinda have to have the cats there but I just don't have to have anything in them as long as they see them there I'll be ok
