Nathan's Blue Notch....
Since all this was lost in the crash, I'm gonna try to recreate as much of it as I can with google cache. :metal: Here goes:
Since today is the three year anniversary of getting my first mustang and first car, I've decided to start a thread to document everything I've done to it so far and everything I'll do with it in the future. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images...on_mrgreen.gif For anyone interested, here's the story of how I got my mustang. Now for some pics. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images.../firedevil.gif The day I got it, 1989 Ford Mustang Coupe, Medium Shadow Blue w/ Regatta Blue Interior, 2.3L 5spd, 114,xxx miles: http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...4-29-06005.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...4-29-06006.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...4-29-06008.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...4-29-06010.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...4-29-06011.jpg New Headlights: http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...-days06004.jpg Few days before paint (October '06): http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...06STANG141.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...06STANG147.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...06STANG151.jpg Fresh paint (October '06): http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...0012_large.jpg Finally finished! The original image is sized 800x600.http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...otch/165-2.jpg Favorite all-time pic (October '08): Interior: I've done several different things with my interior so far. I added aluminum pedal covers, shift knob, stainless steel scuff plates, and a few other small things. I also replaced the (broken) seats with ones out of a '95 I bought off craigslist, and put some cheap covers over them for now. Someday I'd like to get some Corbeau Sport Seats and matching upholstery for the back seat. I also want to add some new floor mats so it looks a little cleaner. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images.../wol_error.gifThis image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 2293x1720.http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...h/DSCN3826.jpg Sound system: When I bought it the sound system consisted of a broken tape deck and two 6x9s in the rear. The dash speakers and antenna weren't even hooked up. In late summer '06 I got a Sony CDX-GT200 installed and that was fine for a while. The next summer I ordered Blaupunkt GTx352s for the dash and Infinity Kappa 6x8s for the rear deck. That still wasn't enough so the next spring I ordered a Blaupunkt THA475 4ch amp, Infinity Reference 6.5s (shallow), Kenwood KDC-X492, and an Infinity Reference 10" sub plus box and wiring. And because I still wanted more I ordered another sub, a bigger box, and an Alpine MRP-M500 plus wiring and a capacitor. I also built a custom amp rack and trunk lid mat with the help of my dad, plus dynamatted the trunk and doors. Pics: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images.../wol_error.gifThis image has been resized. Right now my only mods are a CAI from Mustangs Unlimited, a Maximum Motorsports Strut Tower Brace, and an SVO sway bar from Paul, plus the Eibach springs. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images...on_mrgreen.gif I've also added a stainless steel radiator cover, chrome prop rod, and painted a few small things: http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images.../wol_error.gifThis image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 1024x768.http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...0204_large.jpg For the future I still have a ton of plans! The most important would have to deal with the engine. lol I'd like to do either a 2.3T or 5.0L swap. It's so hard to choose. I'd want the 2.3T because it's unique and a lot easier to do. I'd want the 5.0L because I love the sound and torque of a V8. http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images/smilies/doh.gif Anyway here's a list of everything else I still want to do: -Paint brake calipers and drums black -Install new door handles (I've had them for almost 2 years http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images/smilies/nonono.gif) -Repaint mirrors and front and rear windshield molding/trim -Tint windows (% http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images/smilies/dunno.gif) -Upgrade alternator -New seats -Pro5.0 short throw shifter -Better front sway bar (stock 5.0, MM, or Eibach http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images/smilies/dunno.gif) -MM Subframe connectors -MM Caster Camber Plates -New shocks and struts -Regatta blue floor mats w/ pony -Black leather e-brake boot -Billet e-brake cover -Replace seat belt sleeves, and various other worn interior items -Replace rear package tray -Replace roof rail molding -Replace body molding -Refurbish quarter window trim -Either shorten the antenna, or splurge and have it shaved -140mph (white face http://forums.bradbarnett.net/images/smilies/dunno.gif) gauges -Shave and paint engine bay black -and probably some other things I'm forgetting. lol |
And the updates:
I put some Infinity Reference components up front with the tweeters mounted in the dash. I decided to go with a 10" Alpine Type R instead of my Infinity References. It saved about 17lbs. worth of weight, and hits way harder than they could ever dream of. I also upgraded to a 130amp 3G alternator from PA Performance. I had to take off my strut tower brace though cause there was absolutely no hope of getting it to fit. :( I'll try to figure something out eventually. Some pics: http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...otch/016-4.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...otch/031-4.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...otch/040-1.jpg http://i633.photobucket.com/albums/u..._Notch/up3.jpg |
never noticed that u left the molding body color... lol
I liked the contrast. I actually got my inspiration from another stang in a ford magazine. I haven't been able to find it though. :(
i like that the moulding is black. definitely helps the look :nice:
Copycat! :p
It's back! :woot:
It was a GT hatch for one thing. :p Also the stripes were wider and it had the stock cheese grader tailights painted black.
Nathan, you need to cover the plates on a few pics you missed :poke: Edit time.
I gave up on covering my plates long ago. There's so many out there now, it's not even worth it. :p
:poke: Hey Nate why in post #2 are the chrome cobra's gone?
Everyone asks about that. :p They're still there. They're just all fogged up from the humidity.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh........:nice:
I had just finished washing her too. You can still see some beads of water on the hood and stuff, and obviously the ground is wet too. :p
I got an email from my uncle saying he bought the notch 20 years ago yesterday! Happy belated adoption day!
woot woot!
 |
