Thumbs up

These would go on a 1987 Fox coupe. The wheels have a 5" BS.

They'll work (not sure about fitting on a Fox), but spin about 1" on the rim when doing a burnout/launching. A 9" rim would be better.

Can't afford that this year. Never heard about them spinning.

I have seen a number of persons at the track with 17x8 rims, and if you take a 'Sharpie' and mark a spot on the tire/rim and then re-check after your run . . .99.9% of the ones I've seen have moved ~.75/1" from the original mark.

Let me be clear. You can use that combo (17x8 with 275/40/17). I'm not trying to say one can't, but the tires may slip on the rim. Some (Scothew) have not had this problem.

Note: I was using BFG dr's as well.. MT, Nitto and even maybe BFG's may get different results. I would always go by the manufacturer recommendation. They've done the research for optimal use.
