I'm not sure what you are looking for....at first glance it looks like a 302 with stud mounted roller tip rockers and it resides in an SN-95 Mustang(probably '94-'95 based on the brackets and alternator unless sourced from another car. The Carb appears as though it might be a dual feed or double pumper Holley the only way to tell exactly what it is would be by the numbers off the carb itself.

ah ok I see the sn-95 body now. I noticed it from the wiper cowl below the windshield. I thought it was a fox based car previously, hence the move to teh fox forum.

It does not have "roller rockers" it has "roller TIP rockers"....big difference. I can't way for sure without better pics but that intake looks more like a 302 intake than a 351 intake...which is wider than the 302. I would need a better pic to view the width of it.

Those rockers pivot on a fulcrum and have a roller tip that rests on the top of the valve...better than stock but not as good as a full roller which also has needle bearings and roller in place of the friction area where the fulcrum is. Full Roller Rockers offer less friction over the other styles.

If you are not getting oil to the top end of the engine then you really need to check your oil passages for blockage...if the pressure is higher than normal it could show a blockage or other issue...but with high pressure you should definitely be getting oil to the top end unless there is a blockage or problem somewhere. Make sure nothing it clogging the oil feed passages and make sure the head gaskets were installed correctly(not backwards).

I would NEVER mount a fuel pump inside the passenger compartment of the car...mount it underneath the car away from exhaust and use the proper fuel line(braided is better).

Not necessarily....the first thing I would do(and it's going to be messy would be to fire the engine without the valve covers on it to see if you are getting oil to the rockers....put towels on your fenders. Or you could remove the distributor and put a drill on the oil pump driveshaft and spin the oil pump to see if you have oil to the top of the valve train.

What do you plan to do?? If your working on a budget (read no porting or money to spend on aftermarket heads), dont do a dang thing to those 289 castings.

My advice, ditch the old school heads and go rob a V8 explorer. They came with gt40 or gt40p heads, the latter is a bit better, but in most cases you have to get p specific headers.

If your having them ported then don't bother looking for a set of GT40 or GT40p heads. The 289 castings will end up flowing about the same after the P&P work.

If you dont mind me asking, how much are you paying to have the port work done??

The reason I ask is, I've been down that road before. I had a set E7TE's P&P'd with bigger valves, converted to adjustable valvetrain ect., Spent about 1200 or 1300 dollars on the heads and I ended up with heads the flowed about the same as a set of Windsor JR's. After a exhaust valve retainer went insurgent I killed the block and heads on that 302. I moved up to a 347 and this time got a set of 185 AFRS for about the same money. Vastly superior cylinder heads for the same price.

I also am having a good little 302 built using Gt40p's No P&P on the heads, just a switch to undercut valvestems and a adjustible valve train. As soon as they are finished I'll see what they flow and I'll post #'s if anybody is interested in what a set of stock Gt40p's flow with thinned valvestems.
