maf
I just installed a maf sensor off a 94 GT when I get on it it backfires what can be the cause of that. I thought the 94 GT sensors are very close to the Fox bodys maf sensor, with the stock sensor it runs good. I have a 65 millimeter throttle body an eGR spacer with gt40 upper and lower intake e303 cam gt40p heads.

I just read skunks thread on the maf swap off a 94 95 gt the only thing I didn't do was leaving the battery disconnected for 15 minutes I had it off for about a minute or two would that be my problem?

Probably not. But easy enough to check. Also while you have the battery disconnected keep the head light switch on. That will help drain the memory. You can also try an idle relearn. I dont remember the exact procedure. But its something like:
*Idle for 2 minutes
*idle for 2 minutes with ac on high
* then repeat.
I could be wrong but you can probably find that in google or the tech section.

I left my battery unhooked for quite a while. I unhooked it then installed te maf then got I don't something else then realized I forgot to hook it back up. Hooked it up and it starts up just fine.
Matter of fact I just backed it out o the garage and rev'd a few times and seemed I act the same. Gonna drive it tomorrow to work. Ill let you know if I have any issues. I may just take my old maf with me in case I do have any issues.

Didnt have any issue this morning, ran just fine. I would try unhooking the battery for longer then giving it another go. Are you certain the maf I off of a 94-95 5.0? Might check the sticky section to make sure.
Here's a pic I snapped from a website which tells you the numbers on the maf sensor itself, see if one of those is on that sensor. You didn't swap out your sensor into the 94-95 housing did you?

I also have all the part #'s listed. make sure the plug is clean, check for codes if there is still a problem, could also be a bad maf. Mine has been on for years w/o a problem.

I got the battery disconnect right now probably been 20 minutes I reference the numbers on the pic and they match so it should work if the map is good I'll give another 10 minutes and try again and I'll let you guys know what happened, thanks guys

I just drove the car it seems a little better but it still has some backfire but on one of my runs when I got on it I think I broke something loose on the exhaust so I gotta look into that now I'm going to install the stock maf for now, I'm going to look for another one. Now I gotta figure out what the hell broke in my exhaustI just install some shorty headers so I'm hoping I didnt break something when I was trying to break the bolts loose of the old headers at the flange.
