I have a 88 5.0. Great motor great trans but the rest of the car is shot. Just had motor and trans rebuilt but everything else is downhill and its just not worth it to fix. I was just wondering if anyone knew of anyone or anywhere I can get a 5.0 GT w/ no motor no trans in good condition, or even a 5.0 with a million miles on it thats going to sell for cheap. I just need something that I can do a clean swap into. I live in New Jersey so the closer the better. Thanks alot.

Have you ever seen cars left on the side of the road?
I am sure you have.
Welcome to the world of Auctions
More specificly impound auctions.

First don't bother searching the net as there is nothing but idiots asking for money in exchange for information that can be found for free.

1st place to look would be a local newspaper.
Again "Auctions" being the key word

Another key word is "Public Notices"
This will usually have listings saying things like
"Anyone with an interest in vin number######## 1988 Ford Mustang
These are sometimes local towing services that are using title 32 to recover ther storage and towing fees........

Better still talked to a local policmen about what happens to impounded cars.
Or just get out a local phone directory and start calling around and ask if they have auctions?

Here is an example of a car that I saw sell for $70.00 bucks
No it didn't run. It had no battery or radiator, But I was able to turn the crank by hand so I know it was NOT frozen. It also had four tires that were in excellent shape. No I did not bid since I was holding my cash for a car that was auctioned minutes later.

ya I had seen in autotrader a 1990 GT black on black, no motor no trans... mint condition body and interior, 8pt. roll cage, a fully built currie 9' rear w/ 4:10's, weld brushed aluminum racing rims, new tires, and a 4' cowl. It was really nice and it was just what I was looking for but it was 3200 dollars... i just dont have that kind of money. I just need to get what I can afford. I just want something with a straight body and good interior.

I agree 3200 is a bit to much.
But, with time and patients an impound
can be much more to your liking,
especially if your willing to use your drive train upgrade a 4 or 6 cylinder........

too bad you didnt live here in NS. You wouldnt believe the cars people throw out to the junkyard. You could probably find anything you needed or wanted out here. That is, if you are willing to do the work.
