also tell me the pros/cons of each and where each are most active and finally the sound of each

i would rather go with a full bassani exhaust, long tube headers and all. The blower thing though, on a 5.0 i would prefer a turbo or a Procharger, the kenne bell is better on the mod motors then the pushrod motors such as the 5.0 I like the Turbos alot, BIG power from them, but they arent cheap.

thanks i've heard alot about the bassanis being good like you said but i'm loyal to flowmaster...lol i've had them on all my dads mustangs and trucks since i was 6 lol

u can get a used P-1SC Procharger for 2400-2600, with a air to air intercooler, the kit new is like 3800 i believe, if u would like, i can see what i can do and if i can get u a used kit. so if u want me to find u some, just say the word.
OIL tap goes tot he oil pan, that allows any fragments from the motor oil to go through the blower, the self contained procharger jhas its own oil, u change it seperatelly. Procharger sells it actually.

i'm still deciding see...theres a problem i have lol i'm 17 and my mom doesn't want me to do it so if i do it lol she will probably kick me out of the house and i cant make apartment payment at the moment soon i will be off to college though and then i will be ready to definatly buy one so...how long will u be a memeber on here because in a year or 2 i'll be buying one for sure now...i'm thinking about putting one on behind her back but if she finds out there will be heck to pay

Just do what I do... every time my parents would see me working on my car and would ask me what I was doing I would tell them that whatever it was it was making my gas milage better. They believed everything until I strapped on the MAC Long Tubes w/ the MAC Prochamber h pipe w/ no catz. It worked for a while though. It wouldnt of mattered if she knew but I was just saving myself from hearing a lot of crap.
If you are on a max 3300 budget you better stick with a Vortech SC-trim or a Paxton Novi 1000. There is a lot more additional cost to it than just buying the supercharger unless you have larger injectors, AFPR, BTM, ect. already. Also to be on the safe side it is good to tune it on the dyno before you start pushing it hard. As for the oil tap, don't let that scare you away from Vortech or Paxton. That is the easiest part of the install. Also Vortech does sell an inline oil filter for the feed line if you want extra protection.

. You are misinformed.Fresh oil to the supercharger is GOOD!!!!! The oil you are getting is straight out of the filter from the engine first....secondly if you are really concerned about it, Vortech has an extra Filter kit that filters once again the oil before it goes to the supercharger.
I personally have run Vortechs and NEVER had a problem where any contaminents from the engine hurt the supercharger much less actually got TO the supercharger!
Think about it.....A fresh oil supply to your supercharger keeps that oil fresh...if it is self contained then you have the same small amount of oil that breaks down much quicker and to change a setup like that usually requires a turkey baster or similar to suck it out...meaning you don't get any residue left at the bottom so it is still there when you put the new oil in.
By oil tap he means you have to tap the oil pan for the oil return line...no big deal.
And Doug....if you don't like the "oil tap" system for the Vortech then I guess you don't like Turbochargers do you? Because EVERY turbocharger out there uses the EXACT same method of oil feed

Kb's are nice, but the down side is that if you decide to go with a much larger, heavier breathing engine later on (ie, 347 with some high flowing heads and intake) I have heard that the kb's cant quite keep up. You reach a point when making the engine breath better that the same amount of airflow will produce less boost, the only way to compensate this is with more airflow from your supercharger. While it is true that you can put a smaller pulley on a kb to make it spin higher rpms and thus produce more boost, you may eventually be spinning the blower out of it's efficientcy (sp?) range in order to make the boost you want. That leaves you with one or two decisions, be happy with what you have, or buy another s/c.
However, with a vortech, all you end up having to buy is a new head unit, because from my understanding the brackets are interchangeable between head units. The are car specific, but nnot head unti specific. IE..... As long as you have the same car, it isnt near as much of a problem to go from a sc trim to a t trim. Also, vortech has an excellent trade in program. When you get ready to buy a new head unit, you can more than likely get enoguh cash out opf yours to very well help pay for the next size up.

You are wasting your time but putting filters before and after on the turbocharger...not to mention you could cause a restriction in the drain....back the oil up into the turbo and cause smoking. BUT...go ahead with that...not like I don't know a thing or two about this subject and I'll be happy to say "told ya so" later down the road

but i would listen to paul. he is about the most informed as far as superchargers go around here. there are so many of his customers and his old cars weve seen to doubt most anything he would recommend. and an oil tap isnt that big of a deal. if you are going install and set up a blower by yourself tapping the pan should be pretty simple.

I have a filter kit for a Vortech....and I never installed it on mine....simply because even though I thought it was a good idea at first, it just wasn't necessary.
Turbochargers on cars have been around a long time and nobody...engineers, etc has put filters before or after. Think about it....after the fact the oil goes back to the pan and then gets recycled in the system again but goes right to the oil filter.....and the feed comes straight out of the filter in the first place....so your oil is already being filtered. You will gain more by just regularly changing your oil rather than trying to over filter the system.
The oil return on a Turbo is gravity fed....nothing is forcing it through...so if you put a filter there it will slow the return rate...if it gets dirty then the rate can get even slower. I have seen guys install turbo kits on cars and not get the drain set up properly(for various reasons) this caused the oil to back up in the line and with no place to go it soaked the turbocharger and smoked like a freight train.
