Help on wheel sizes for the notch.

I want to go with 17x10 in the rear with a 23.8mm offset and 17x8 with a 25.4 mm offset. Will this work on my notch ?? on the sight it says that i would have to remove my quad shocks if i want 10's to fit on the rear i dont know what that means. Can someone let me know please they also said that if you get a extreme offset you need the s95 rear. Whats a extreme offset size? https://humbug.antnet.com/MavroMont/order_pg.htm#ponyr thanks.

What are my options? i really want 10's in the rear but i dont want to change anything out. thanks

The quad shocks are the small "axle dampers" found on the rear axles of 5.0 V8 Mustangs that are supposed to help control axle windup under accel... that wheel/tire width will create clearance issues. you might also want to make sure they won't contact your rear exhaust pipes.

will 9's all around be a issue?

I would get the 10's in the rear and 8's in the front, IMO...the wider rear tires give the car a better look.

If you step up and buy performance upper and lower rear control arms then you can remove the quad shocks on each side and not have a problem with wheel or tire clearance. Thats what I did.

I don't think 4cyls have quad shocks. I have 17x9s all around, and haven't had any problems, except for some very slight rubbing up front when taking very sharp turns.

I never looked into wide wheels for my fox so I don't know much about it but I found some stuff over at StangNet;

http://forums.stangnet.com/740847-17x10-5-fox.html

http://forums.stangnet.com/745492-10...els-90-gt.html

its hard to find info about 10" rims but it seems it can be done

First off, if this is a 5.0 - have you done a SN95 brake conversion or are you keeping the stock disc/drum set up? Or maybe going w/a 5 lug disc/drum?
Well, just like the site said, if you want to run 17x10 rears, remove the quad shocks. 4cyl. Foxes never had them anyway, so it's nothing to worry about if that is the case. I think the FAQ section on the site explained about the rear wheel offset for 4/5 lug rear drum vs. 5 lug rear disc (M2300K/SN95/Cobra) conversion pretty well. Also, depending on the model year, the front wheel openings are different between "aero" '87-'90 vs. '91-'93 - ie., the front lower fender extensions to clear the larger 16" "Pony" wheel and tire combo. Having 17x9's can result in some rubbing, and in some cases, may even contact the A-arm when trying to make really tight turns. My old '88 notch w/16x7 Ponys and 245/50R 16's rubbed quite a bit - that is not the case with my '92 w/the same wheel/tire combo. A fellow Mustang club member w/a 2" lowered '90 'vert running the 5 lug Cobra brake conversion and, IIRC, '03-'04 Cobra wheels has front wheel rubbing issues which he solved by using steering rack limiters at the cost of increasing the turning radius which is already pretty bad in stock form. Guess it all depends on what you want. If you're set on the 17x10's go for it.

You may possibly be able to just flip your quads depending on what offset you decide to go with. If you have upgraded your lower control arms, you can remove your quads anyway--the stiffer lowers tend to negate the need for quads. A guy on youtube got some footage of some 18x10's on a fox notch. Removed the quads and they tuck in nicely. I know you weren't wanting to change anything but just some ideas. 10's will rock on your fox. I have a 98 Cobra rear end on my Cobra and with the proper backspacing I could go with 11's...sounds like a plan...

Cool. the notch is a 4cyl. So i shouldn't have any problems running 10's in the back and 8's in the front right?
