i was wondering, im supposed to be getting a 91 GT and it has flowtech headers in it now....which cylinder heads will those headers bolt up to..i believe the GT40P wont bolt up..how about aftermarket ones such as trickflow and air flow reasearch....
also has anyone ever delt with Central Coast Mustang engines? im considering getting one from them.....any thoughts are welcome

Cast iron Gt40s will work as well as any ford head that uses a standard exhaust port location and design.
P heads have a rotated spark plug design making header selection problematic.
First question you need to ask yourself is "What do I want to do?" then go from there.

Personally, I would ditch the Flowtechs to begin with and get a decent set of headersto go on whatever set of heads you end up chosing. I've never seen a set of Flowtechs (long tubes) that didn't leak eventually.

In so far as there is a proper header diameter in relation to cylinder volume, an RPM value and volumetric effciency, yes they do.
However in 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of the case when it comes to street cars, your only real concern is letting the cylinder effciently blow down (read; negligable back pressure) and maintain velocity through the exhaust system.
Yes headers can be used as a tuning aid and yes they can provide a benefit to volumetric effiency (but thats a total package deal).

Only the high port heads require a different kind of header and some pure race heads, but most available street heads utilize a standard exhaust bolt pattern and location.
