Goodyear Gatorbacks

Anyone have a source for Goodyear Gatorback tires 225/60/15?

Also looking for original battery for a 1986 GT, any condition dead or alive.

trying to keep my 1986 unrestored all original.

They are quite pricey though, but it's a start

They would also be unsafe to drive around on at anything over about 25MPH. They have been out of production so long that they'd be hard as rocks. They are however perfectly fine for a trailered show car. I picked up a set of 225/50/16s for a fairly good price of $125 each. They are for a future concours resto of one of my SVOs.

That is actually not necessarily true. When tires are stored properly they can be just as soft as when new. A friend of mine picked up a set of NOS Firestone Wide Ovals for his '70 Super Bee and they were perfect...he drove on them with no problems at all. Storage is key for tires though so just because they are old production does not necessarily condemn them to be junk. I've also seen Gatorbacks stored and still in remarkable condition. Heat and sunlight are the major enemy when storing tires.
