Good price for a 93' Cobra?

Hi guys, I'm not usually in this part of the forums. I was recently burned on a potential purchase of a 98' Cobra but found a 93' Cobra for about the same money. What do you guys feel this car is worth?

1993 Ford Mustang COBRA SVT #1985 The car has 48,000 and change miles. Vibrant red gray leather 5 spd. allot of extras sportsman II block Trickflow twisted wedge heads FMS shorty headers 9mm wires, Kenny Brown sub frame and ladder bars, aluminum drive shaft, 3:73 rear end pro 5.0 short shift, street glow gold series under carriage RED neons New transmission and I have the original needs new 3rd gear. Energy suspension polyurethane transmission mount. King cobra clutch. Mac stainless steel 3" cat back exhaust Griffin aluminum race radiator

he's asking $12,000 (if you wanna see it, it is the only 93' Cobra on ebay)

I'm looking at the car's possible collectible value how much do you think the mods hurt the car's overall value and should I pay a little more and buy a stock example.....any feedback would be great thanks guys.

If you are purchasing from a pure collectible perspective, in my opinion, you would be better served purchasing a 100% stock low mile example.

Agreed, if youre planning on collecting i dont think itll be worth it with non-numbers matching and all those mods. If you want something to drive it sounds like that thing would be a blast.

Edit: just looked it up, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1993-...em300200466344

Id love to have that car.

seems to me like its tastefully modded (except for the neons), 48k isn't a lot of miles IMO

Nice car, but me I wouldn't pay more than 7K for it.
Just my opinion, but I don't think those cars are going to hold big value.
And it ain't stock,on Cobras that can lower the future value.

Stock or modified you will never see a 93' Cobra sell for that little. As far as them holding value 93' Cobras in mint condition and low miles are already selling for more than they cost brand new. A local dealership has a Teal 93 with sunroof, gray leather, cd, etc... with 30,000mi ans he is asking $19,500! If you look on autotrader low mileage 93 Cobras are selling between 24-18k! These Cobras will likley hold their value better than the more powerful Terminators and GT500s! keep in mind this was the only year of the fox body Cobra and there was under 5000 of them made!

LOL you will NEVER find even a semi-decent driven Cobra for only 7k. the car still looks stock, tasteful mods done, I don't understand why people think its not worth much?

I think that the guys that got GT 500s for investments should have just took that money & got 93 Cobras & 87-93 coupes. The market is crazy now for the foxbody cars.

I agree, I never would have thought that fox body cars would become desirable. From what I have seen a low mileage fox is worth more than many 94-98 GTs. Oh by the way I am bidding on the car wish me luck

Hope you get it man. (I have to live out my car desires through other people till i get out of school)

And about them not holding value??? Does anybody remember the 5.0 notch that was posted on here with like 50 miles (not 50k), garage stored for 15 years or something, i think it sold for 25 grand on ebay and that was just a run of the mill stang that was probably about $16,000 new. 93 cobras are a fantastic investment if youre gonna hang onto something.

Yeah, thats DEFINITELY true where I live...I paid more for my 88 than I could have for most 94-98 gts in the same condition around here...

Sorry, I know this tread is dead... but what do you guys think of this:

93 cobra, 2,544 original miles, black and grey leather, no sonroof, #970 built, matching vin and numbers, all new still smells like new, and the guy said:

"ONLY MODIFIED IN MOTOR (MUCH MORE PERFORMANCE),SUPERCHARGER ( PROCHARGER), HEADERS ( BBK),INTERCOOLER, FLOWMASTER, TIRES NITTO EXTREME DRAG,LIGHT TACH,FUEL GAS PUMP (HOLEY),CLUTCH FORD RACING,MDS IGNITION,AND MORE."

how much would you think this is worth? any ideas? hes asking 25 grand, or do you think its better to get a G5 and mod it up?...

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

25 seems quite high, i wonder why he installed all those go-fast goodies and barely put any miles on it? I hope nothings dry-rotted or falling apart...

If he had left it alone it would be worth 25K....but not now IMO.
