![Question](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I am planning to put new gears (3:90) in my car, 2005 GT. My brother in law has a '93 cobra w/ full exhaust. Now could we put the stock gears from my car into his. I believe his car has 3:08's right now (?). Is this swap possible? If so, is there anything special we need to do?

If you have never set up gears then I recommend that you have someone install them who knows what they are doing....a mistake will ruin the gears immediately once you drive the car. As far as the gears themselves go they are 8.8 gears and are the same ring and pinion from 1986-2007 so yes, your gears can be installed in his car.

We were planning on getting them done profesionally. We just didn't know what to expect. Great thanks for the response, Paul. That will save him some money.
