Flowmaster exhausts
#1
I have a 91 Stang automatic and i was trying to figure out what would be the best flowmasters i should get. 1 chamber or the 2 chamber pipes? I know the 2 chamber gives and aggresive sound but my friend was telling me the 1 chamber will give a Beefy sound also. If you have any information please let me know.

I have used 2ch flowmasters, 1 ch flowmasters. MAC pro dumps, MAC 2.5 inch cat back and dynomax bullets. The dynomax were the loudest. If I had it to do over I would go with Spintech Pro street mufflers. They have the mean idle sound of the dynomax with the flowmaster growl at full throttle. As for a good sound, price and ease of install the MAC pro dumps are great. Took me about 10 minutes to install them in the driveway using some car ramps.

Here is a video of my dyno run. The sound is a little muffled though. I have some other clips that I will have to upload and then I'll post them for you.

If you like spending time on the side of the road discussing the sound of your car with local law enforcement then buy the one chamber...otherwise go with the tried and true 2 chamber.
I knew a guy who put put the 1 chamber on his 5.0 years back and it sounded AWFUL!!!!! It was WAY too loud and sounded like crap.
But like I said...if you like drawing attention to yourself, irritating others, can't hear yourself think let alone your stereo and like to talk to the guys with hats in Crown Vics then go with the 1 chamber

If you are looking for a LOUD agressive sound, I would highly recommend the 3" MAC Flowpaths(cat back). They are louder than Flowmaster 2 1/2" for obvious reasons, and they flow huge. I had them on my beloved 91 GT b4 I got married and had to sell it. The MACS were connected to a set of JBA shortys and a BBK 2 1/2" high flow Cat H-Pipe.

I have the 2 chambers on my 93 GT automatic. I love them but the noise tends to die out after 2,300rpm. From take off and at idle the thing sounds sweet though. I also have my cats on and stock headers.

I have 2.5, 2chamber Flows on mine and they seem just right. Everybody gives me compliments on the way it sounds. It's loud enough to where you can feel the vibration if you stand next to it.
