Well Ive decided to sell, Its a 1989 5.0 LX, 5-speed, 72000original miles, and Ive owned it since new. The color is emerald black(dark metallic green). Add ons arent much other than K&n filter, hurst short throw, weld wheels, fowmaster with H-pipe. This car has never seen snow, nor much rain for that fact and always garage kept. It is in excellent shape, THIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED. Thanks..Any Offers??

Unmolested 5.0 Mustangs are hard to find. Yours being an '89 is particularly good because it does not have airbags(many don't care for that steering wheel) and is the first year for Mass Air.

For an accurate appraisal I would have to see the car but assuming it is as clean as you say with no rust anywhere and everything works and is in good shape it would be worth more than $5K. KBB and NADA can be thrown out the window on these cars....they offer a guide but in the end can the buyer really go out and find another car as nice as this easily....No. The more you ask the more narrow your buyer market is but there is a buyer if advertised properly....area of the country also plays a factor since cars are typically in worse shape in the north. You didn't mention if the car is a coupe or hatchback....a coupe would be worth more since they are in high demand these days and hard to find. I would estimate $6500-$7000 as a high value...meaning you may not sell it quickly but there is a buyer out there somewhere willing to give you that for the car.

svopaul is right about the steering wheel and the mass air. Makes things much cleaner/easier with mass air and no air bag.

Fordracing you have no clue. If the car is pretty unmolested it should bring anywhere from 5000-6500. Maybe more with the miles. The welds are not gonna help it bring anymore on the resale. Actually it would sell better with pony wheels. Anways my friend has a 91 thats pretty similar he put it up for 5500 except his has 122 on the clock. Good luck with the sale.

Very nice. Why do you want to sell it? It is gorgeous. it is worth keeping. Now I see what you mean. 6 grand is the most I would pay, It is well worth it though.

I stand by my original post but in light that it is a notchback and todays market I would probably raise it $500-1000....as a high sale price because of it being a factory 5.0 Notchback. I have seen conversion cars(original 4 cyl converted to 5.0) listed for sale in the 7500-8500 range.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Forgot to mention it does have a factory ford spoiler on the rear, and I have saved all the original parts including the stock h-pipe with cats. I also have ford motor sport 373 gears still in box with shims, oil, and everything to install. The only reason I am even considering selling is because storage has become somewhat of a hassle. Really hate to get rid of it. Again thanks for the posts....... wannaride

Hey Andy, Pony's did NOT come on '89 cars! :notnice: And... The Welds ARE worth much more than the stock LX rims. So I don't know why you are telling people they have no clue what they are talking about!

P.S. WANNARIDE, Your car is HOT! Too bad you are selling it, and I hope you sell it to someone who will take equal care of it as you did.

Holy COW! If you ran an ad in the paper around here for 5K, you would have it sold before lunch first day the ad runs.
