I been doing auto body for around 18 years off and on.

Ok prime it in a light color. It can be grey, yellow, tan whatever. Then take a can of black spray paint ( dont matter what brand) and lightly spray it over the primer. Enough to show thats it there but not enough to cover up the primer completely. it just needs to be light. This process is called guide coating. Then wet sand it with wet dry sandpaper. I usually use 220 grit for this. If there are any low spots the black will show. If there are high spots it will turn to bare metal. If you can get away with using a sanding block then do so. if not what I do is take a paint stir stick and wrap it with the sand paper. Also make sure you keep whatever your using to sand with flat. Only wetsand enough to remove the black paint. If you have a black spot then sand till it either goes away or you see bare metal. If you have no black spots and no bare metal then you are good to go. Wetsand with 400 grit then you can paint or you can go ahead and wetsand again with 600 to make it smoother. I usually stop with 400 making sure that there are no sanding marks visible and everything is smooth.

Hope this helps.

Thats gonna look sweet BUT I would go with True Blue instead of Sonic Blue. I like True Blue better.

What year is that one? You gonna build it for the track?

True Blue is this deep dark blue. at night it looks black but when the sun hits it you can see that it is blue. it is an awesome color. I will post a pic later. I gotta get back to work now.

Im redoing it cuz it has a bunch of chips and nicks in it. I want it to be clean with no scratches or chips. I will be showing it too so it has to be clean. lol

Also the color of mine is actually a Mercedes color. I dont know the paint code since the paint can is still in the car and I am not home anymore.
