Dumb question. Get ready to laugh (but I'd rather feel dumb for asking an obvious question than damage my car) I just acquired my second mustang (an 89' 5.0 convertible). It doesn't have a owner's manual and I don't want to buy one to answer just one question: how do I go about operating the convertable top, exactly? Are there any manual latches that I must disengage first? I really don't want to break it on my first day of owning it. Thanks.

it should have 2 latches one above each sun visor, pull those toward you, make sure the e brake is set and you should have a power switch on the center console to operate the top.

actually, im not sure, but on my 1987, the latches are up on the top, but not behind the sunvisors. There are over the door sort of. Just pull them out, set the E brake, and the controll will be on the right hand side of the steering wheel, the bottom switch i believe... hope that helps

I got it. There are a pair of handles over where the door meets the windshield. My problem was that the handle that I was pulling was broken and wouldn't come out (I had to take it apart and reassemble it); so I figured that it was not, in fact, a handle.
