Best Shifter for a T5?

All;

Currently I have a Pro50 installed in my SVO. While it was a huge improvement, I want better.

So, who makes the best T5 shifter with the shortest throw?

Thanks

Walt

You have the best shifter already> my opinion. Seriously though, I drove two 03 Cobras, one with a Tri-Ax and the other an MGW and they didn't feel as nice as the Pro-5.0. The MGW was outrageously short shifting though, like 2 milimeters and you were in the next gear...

The Pro 5.0 is definitely one of the best for the T5. You 'll probably have trouble finding something better.

I have used/installed just about every shifter out there and I don't think there is a better shifter than the Pro 5.0.

Thanks guys.
I guess I've gotten spoiled by the Hurst in the '05. I know T5s are designed differently and I probably won't be able to do any better than a Pro50. But it was worth a try...

Tri ax not worth the money? I've always heard they were the "best", guess not?

We are definitely spoiled by the Hurst in the 05-08 GT's. I've put almost 30K kms on my 07 and then I finally got my 88 GT back together. Even though it has a Pro 5.0 it still feels like I'm driving a truck. Long sloppy throws. They are not tight like the new car.

Personally I don't really care that much for the shifters in the '05-08 Mustangs....they feel too "distant" during "spirited" driving.....but that has more to do with the transmission design rather than the shifter itself.

i loved the pro50 in my 92, so much i wish i took it out of it when i sold it since its the same for my 98 cobra. my cobra came with a tri ax. so no where near as good as the pro50 IMO.

and the throws probably feel longer b/c the shifter itself is so dang far away!

I had a Tri-Ax in my '01, but I like the feel of the Pro50 better; not notchy, but positive. And yes, it's a "reach" on a T5 going from gear to gear.

I still wonder if a Hurst or an MGW would be any better...

I agree that the Pro5.0 is the best but, add the Steeda Comfort Pro handle. It makes a world of difference. The shifter is closer to the driver and further back. I have it in mine. During spirited driving, I can drop my hand off the steering wheel and it falls directly on the shifter handle. Plus the reach is not far in third and fifth. And, I can cruise on the highway and still change CD's with the stock stereo location.

I am going out on a limb here. I have a pro 5.0 shifter also on my stang, but when I went from stock to that shifter I had a hard time adjusting and when I was racing I would miss 3 rd alot because it seemed like to go from 2nd to 3rd you had to go up over----> and the up into 3rd. but with the stock shifter I never missed 3rd and I was like a smooth shift up...but I am retarded too dont listen to me...lol nah jk
