best place to jack and place jack stands

Just wondering where is the best place to jack the front of my fox up and where to put the jack stands?

I have jacked my 05 GT up by the cross member and placed the stands on the areas right beside it.

Can the same area be used for the foxes or are there other options?

I am interested in this too. I just replaced the steering rack on mine today and I jacked from the center of the k-member and placed the jack stands under the pinchwelds on the sides where the little notch is for a jack. It worked for me, but I'd be interested in what other do. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

I believe that notch is one area to put the jack stands. I think the flat area just adjacent to it might be OK as well.

I am not sure what it is called exactly, but I heard the "frame rails" might be another place to use the stands.

You are confirming for me the K member is one place to jack the front.

Can others confirm the above?

You can jack them up by the crossmember right under the radiator and it will be fine. I would put the jack stands either under the frame rails or right next to the front suspension if possible. I could be wrong about the front suspension due to not being under one for awhile. Hope this helps.

Was just under the car today and yes I think the crossmember is the best place to jack the front.

The jack stands I placed on the flat solid area right beside the little notch where one would put the emergency jack. Another pretty solid area is the frame rails which are a little further in from this solid flat area. Putting under the frame rails will not allow as much room to work under the car though.

As in one of the previous posts, perhaps flanking them each side of the crossmember might be another place?? I have used this area on my 05 with no problems.

When I do my oil changes I use the ends of the engine crossmember.

yes that is right. i saw a diagram of this in the internet and it shows you the exact spots that properly hold the jack and the stand. try looking it up on the net to see for yourself.

I put jackstands different places for different reasons. In general, I try to put the jackstands under the A-Arms. Mine fit well between the spring seat, and the outer lip of the arm, so I feel it is much more secure than at the pinch weld, especially when I just have the front up. When doing suspension work I put the jackstands on the K-Member just inside of the A-Arms.
