Bbk garbage
Hey guys I'm working on my buddies 87 5.slow and he bought a bbk intake with the upper and lower receiver I put it Together following the directions and I can't figure out the last couple hoses that r includes in the kit and does anyone kno how to unhook the fuel lines without me Having to go buy the special tool? Here some pica to show you where I'm at... And there's two hose connections on the upper manifold that I can't find the hoses that go to it, any advice would be appreciated thank
you need the tool to release the fuel lines or altleast I have always used the tool. The tool releases the spring lock w/o damaging the spring or the o-ring, you don't want to danage them or most likley you will get a fuel leak.
The vacuum lines are pretty simple just make a mental note of how the factory ones ran on the stock intake. you may have to get a "T" to make it all work but most aftermarket intakes do take some xtra time to adapt all the lines. you need 1 for the fuel pressure reg, 1 for the PVC, 1 for the vacuum tree and you may need to add or "T" in one for the charcoal canister set up like I stated. The fuel reg and PVC you will want to be closer to them.

I have everything hooked up on the upper manifold, and I moved the wires and all the hoses I hooked up the t valve from the stock to the nre on, but there are two valves on the bbk upper that I can find any hoses that go there. When the manifold is in place the two valves are on the bottom drivers side right above the blue fuel rail and the only two hoses I have left are on from the heater core rail on the left side of the motor and the other line runs above the file rail and has a electric connection to the heater core valve, I got the fuel lines off. I bought the tool to 18$ from napa auto parts and it worked fairly easy... I called bbk and left them my name and number so they can call me back. All the techs were busy with other calls ( figure) lol! I will post more pics tomorrow to show you where I am stuck at thanks
If you have all the vacuum line hooked up then cap the open ends. you can get some rubber plug caps at napa. you don't have to use all the vacuum ports, once all the required vacuum lines are used then you are done. just double check everything and this is the most important check for fuel leaks, these intakes are known for leaking fuel via the bbk supplied line and other issues. you may even have to google ssi intake to get more info on some of the issues.
