Battery....

So a silly question I know but just wanted some ideas on a battery.. Tons out there but does anyone have an affinity to a certain brand, specs? Or do you guys just feel a battery is a battery?

Mine died over the week, left my door open just enough for it to lock but not cut off the light... Dumb me but I was rushing the wife to the hospital...

I use motorcraft because that's the only one that looks right in there.

Yeah I did that also (motorcraft) @ one point but it kept leaking and the next one I got something went wrong with the positive post and it kept turning black. I store my car in the winter so thats why I went with the deep cycle optima.

most top brands are pretty much the same. the thing you want to be concerned about is fitment.

Because I'm a cheap *******, I go with the lowest priced one available. Just changed mine last month after 6 yrs. - which included one recharge because it went flat after sitting for around 10 months. Having UDPs surely didn't help when idling, especially at night. Was a "nEverstart" brand from W@lM@rt.
As far as fitment, forget the "parts finder" result - have had great success using batteries from the same group number/family (IIRC 58). Choose the one with the highest CA/CCA rating since they usually cost the same. Just keep in mind the pos./neg. terminals may be opposite of the OE factory replacement position and you may have to pull your battery cables out a little more for reach (they end up more inboard toward the engine vs. closer to the inner fender).
Really would love to try a Odyssey AGM battery one of these days because I've heard really good things about them.

Many moons ago when I was a car stereo installer, I spoke with some battery gurus from the major brands. Short of gel cell, they are all pretty much the same. I pick batteries like many folks pick women. Which ever one has the prettiest wrapper that I can afford.

50% of all batteries are made by exide and rebranded for the car manufactures, and parts store chains
